Terms and Conditions

Credit Account Customers Only Payment terms:

Where we have accepted you as an account customer we require that all invoices are paid within 30days of the invoice date. When account facilities have not been granted then payment will be with your order, or where previously agreed, on delivery. Credit terms will be removed at any time if Dirtbusters Skip Hire ltd feels there is a risk with the account.

Hire Rules and Regulations.

In these conditions ‘owner’ means ‘registered carrier’, ‘Hirer’ means person or company to which accounts are rendered. Vehicle means the vehicle which is being used to deliver or collect the skip which is subject to the contract. ‘Driver’ means the driver of the vehicle and ‘site’ means the place where the skip is being deposited with the guidance and direction of the hirer. The following conditions must be upheld throughout the contract:

1. No agent or employee of Dirtbusters Skip Hire Limited and/or Allen & Smith Metal Recycling is permitted to alter or vary these conditions in anyway unless previously agreed by all parties.

2. The company will endeavour to comply with the hirer’s requirements but can accept no responsibility for failure to supply or for any delay in supplying skips which may be caused directly or indirectly by any circumstances beyond the company’s control.

3. The hirer shall direct the driver where to deliver or operate equipment but the driver is under no obligation to follow instructions that he/she feels are unsafe and may compromise the safety of persons or equipment.

4. It is the responsibility of the hirer to notify the company of the need for a permit. It is not the responsibility of The Company to check the ownership and rights of each individual plot of land. It is therefore essential that the hirer ensures that all permissions required before skips can lawfully be deposited on the site/highway including the council licence have been or will be obtained before he directs the driver to deposit the skip. The hirer will be liable for any fines.

5. The hirer shall not move the skip without consent of Dirtbusters Skip Hire Limited.

6. The hirer must ensure that no tyres, fluorescent lighting tubes, asbestos, Hazardous/toxic materials, gas bottles, Oil or filters, batteries, fridges, freezers, paint tins with paint inside, animal waste, plasterboard, televisions & computer monitors have been placed in the skip. Failure to comply may mean that the items are removed or returned to the hirer’s property at the hirers cost or an additional charge levied for any specialist disposal that maybe required. (Asbestos will be returned we do not pay for specialist removals)

7. The hirer shall ensure that from the time the skip is delivered until the time that it is collected again by the company:

a) It is property sited in accordance with the permission given

b) No fires are lit in it

c) It is filled no higher than to the top of its sides

d) It suffers no damage except for reasonable wear and tear

8. The customer shall ensure free and suitable access to and from the delivery address and ensure suitable ground conditions for the delivery of equipment or heavy vehicle movements. No responsibility will be accepted for the damage to any surface over which the equipment or vehicle directed by the hirer to reach its destination and the customer should therefore take steps to protect the surface.

9. Unless expressly agreed otherwise the duration for which any skip can be hired shall not exceed 28days. For each week that exceeds the 28days ‘casual hire’, a charge of £5.00 (plus vat) per week will be incurred in addition to a £50 late payment charge (If the individual has not paid). Large Roll on Roll off skips also known as 20/40/50-yard skips shall not exceed 60 Days ‘casual hire’. For each week that exceeds 60 days a charge of £20.00 (plus vat) will be incurred.

10. All skips shall be indelibly marked with Dirtbusters Skip Hire Limited name and phone numbers.

11. Except when specifically, otherwise agreed. The company will dispose of the contents of the skip. All waste will be taken to our treatment centre for sorting before transferring any remaining, non-recyclable material to a licensed waste disposal site.

 

Refund Policy

If you change your mind and wish to cancel or re-schedule your skip, a 24 hours’ notice period is required to receive a full refund. If the skip is cancelled on the day of delivery, then you will not receive a refund. You will not be entitled to a refund if the driver has made a wasted journey i.e. has come to deliver the skip but has not been able to complete the delivery due to the customer’s fault (locked gates, blocked driveways etc). Once any waste has gone into the skip and the customer decides to cancel the skip no refund will be given.

Permits and licenses: permits are non-refundable once they have been submitted to the local council.
